Garlic, the immunity booster:

Garlic has been considered as a medicine from ancient times. When it is cut or crushed, it releases “Allicin”, a distinct compound with many health benefits. So, always crush or cut it, to get better results.

It is low in calories and very rich in Vitamin C, Vitamin B6 and Manganese.

Health benefits of Garlic:

  •  Increases immunity:

Garlic improves immunity and general well being. Therefore, regularly include it in your diet.

  • Fights infections:

It is a natural antibiotic, to heal the infections. It is highly effective in fighting strepthroat and ear infections in kids.

For strep throat infection, prepare a mixture of garlic and cayenne pepper in the ratio of 1:3 and give orally every 3 hours.

For ear infection, fry minced garlic in coconut oil and apply to the ear, after cooling – 2-3 drops at a time. Repeat it atleast twice a day till its cured. To prevent ear infection, use it immediately after cold symptoms start.

  • Fights common cold and flu:

As an immunity booster, it is very effective in fighting common cold and flu. Whenever you have cold and flu symptoms, increase the intake of garlic and ginger, to fight them.

  •  Lowers blood pressure:

It is very effective in lowering blood pressure. But, people with lower blood pressure need not avoid it, as it does not have any adverse effects on them.

  • Lowers heart risks:

It lowers heart problems, by lowering total and LDL cholesterol.

  • Helps digestion:

It is helpful in digestion. Its a natural remedy for bloating and heart burns. Take 1-2 garlic cloves as a tablet for immediate relief.
